Outreach Activities

 

Volunteers Enlisted to Assist People (VEAP)

Calvary is a "member church" of VEAP, a local non-profit agency serving low-income families, individuals, elderly and disabled persons. Their goal is to meet basic needs and build stronger communities. We collect food contributions that are delivered monthly to VEAP. We collect food and donations for the Souper Bowl of Caring program, and we participate in the Minnesota FoodShare Campaign each year in March. We sponsor a collection of holiday toys in November and December for all ages of children that are delivered to VEAP for their holiday gift store. This is designed to help parents of low-income families provide stable and positive holiday memories for their children. We collect a wide variety of school supplies in August and deliver to VEAP for the Back To School event.

 

Meals on WheelsChurch members volunteer to deliver meals for  Meals On Wheels

in Edina on the second Thursday of each month.

 

Calvary Crafters

A group of crafters meet at Calvary to knit and crochet items that are donated to various mission projects.  Knitters and crocheters meet during the Sunday morning coffee hour.  Some of the past missions include making baby caps for "Caps for Good," afghan squares for "Warm-Up America," and baby items for "Bundles of Love."

 

 

 

 

 

Our Savior HousingCalvary prepares an evening meal for residents at this homeless shelter on a Sunday evening every other month.  Members provide funding to purchase the groceries.  The meal is prepared and then delivered and served by adults and youth from the church.
